Body of missing teen found in Chitwan’s Budhirapti River
His body was found on Friday morning near a bamboo grove about two kilometers downstream from the Padariya Bridge, in the direction of Chitrasari.
KATHMANDU: The body of a 15-year-old boy who went missing after being swept away by the Budhirapti River has been recovered in Ratnanagar, Chitwan.
According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the deceased has been identified as Anmol Lamsal, a resident of Madhavpur, Ratnanagar-15.
His body was found on Friday morning near a bamboo grove about two kilometers downstream from the Padariya Bridge, in the direction of Chitrasari.
Lamsal had gone to his maternal uncle’s house and had gone swimming in the river with friends around 2 p.m. on Thursday. During the swim, he was swept away by the river’s strong current and went missing.
Despite an immediate search operation carried out by Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and local residents, Lamsal could not be located on Thursday.
His body was spotted by locals on Friday morning at around 5:15 a.m., who then informed the police.
Police confirmed the identity after reaching the site and have sent the body to Bharatpur Hospital for post-mortem examination.
