KATHMANDU: At the second special convention of the Nepali Congress, General Secretary Bishwprakash Sharma presented the party’s organizational report on Monday.

The session, held at Bhrikutimandap under the chairmanship of Shyamkumar Khadka, saw Sharma unveil the report titled “Congress to Change a Changing Nation.”

The report outlines comprehensive reforms, ranging from the country’s governance structure to the party’s internal operations.

It proposes that no individual should serve as Prime Minister more than twice, a policy the party aims to enshrine in Nepal’s Constitution.

Sharma also emphasized maintaining political stability and preserving party identity by avoiding electoral alliances, citing past coalitions as having compromised the party’s originality and voter trust.

The report further highlights initiatives to strengthen good governance and transparency, end political favoritism in constitutional bodies, universities, and ambassadorial appointments, curb nepotism, and enhance youth representation within the party.

Additionally, it includes an 18-point self-critique addressing past mistakes and commitments for reform.
