Bijay Baral stars in Rajan Bhusal’s acting debut ‘Zero Degree’

KATHMANDU: Popular actor Bijay Baral will play the lead role in the upcoming Nepali film ‘Zero Degree’, which marks the acting debut of director Rajan Bhusal.
Bhusal, who is also the story writer for the film, is stepping in front of the camera for the first time.
The film is jointly directed by Sajan Kafle and Aakash Baral, who previously gained attention with their movie ‘Behuli from Meghauli’. Bhusal is already familiar to audiences for his directorial work in ‘Aktor: Take One’.
Produced under the Meghauli Films banner, the screenplay and dialogues for Zero Degree are crafted by Kafle and Baral.
The story revolves around a remote village where, following the death of the parents, their children living abroad bring a deep freezer to preserve the bodies until they arrive—setting off a series of unusual and chaotic events.
According to the director, the film is more than just the journey of a fridge to the village; it aims to explore society’s deeper truths through dark comedy.
The previously released poster reflects this focus, giving prominence to the deep freezer rather than the actors’ faces.
The film’s executive producer is Moti Karki, with cinematography by Nishal Paudel. Music will be composed by Ankit Babu Adhikari, and the songs will feature lyrics by Yubaraj Kafle, known for the hit track ‘Kafle’ from Unnko Sweater.
Zero Degree is currently in its early production stage, with locations being finalized, and is slated for release next year.
Kuber Cine Distribution will handle the film’s distribution.
