Bhutan, Nepal health ministers hold talks in Geneva

KATHMANDU: Lyonpo Tandin Wangchuk and Nisha Mehta held a bilateral meeting in Geneva, Switzerland, on Tuesday on the sidelines of the World Health Assembly.

According to Ministry of Health and Population of Nepal spokesperson Dr. Samir Kumar Adhikari, the two ministers discussed shared public health challenges faced by both countries and stressed the need for stronger mutual cooperation to address them.

During the talks, both sides also exchanged views on strengthening resilient, inclusive, and people-centered health service systems.

The ministers emphasized further collaboration to enhance and reinforce the health systems of both countries.

The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to deepen cooperation between the two nations in the health sector, Dr. Adhikari said.

Earlier in the assembly, Minister Mehta also held bilateral meetings with her Indian and Chinese counterparts.
