KATHMANDU: Bayern Munich delivered a stunning performance to crush Wolfsburg 8–1 in the Bundesliga, strengthening their grip at the top of the table with an 11-point lead.

Wolfsburg’s nightmare began early when Kilian Fischer scored an own goal in the fifth minute, marking the club’s third consecutive match with an own goal — a negative Bundesliga record.

Although Jannan Pejcinovic equalized in the 13th minute, Bayern quickly took full control of the game.

Luis Díaz restored Bayern’s lead in the 30th minute with a powerful header from a Michael Olise cross, registering his ninth league goal of the season.

Olise then took center stage in the second half, scoring twice in the 50th and 76th minutes.

Further goals came from Moritz Jenz (own goal, 53rd), Raphaël Guerreiro (68th), and Harry Kane (69th), as Bayern tore through the Wolfsburg defense.

Kane continued his sensational form, reaching 20 league goals in just 16 matches this season.

Leon Goretzka completed the rout with Bayern’s eighth goal in the 88th minute, capping off a dominant and ruthless display.

With this emphatic victory, Bayern Munich have sent a strong message to their title rivals as they continue their march toward another Bundesliga crown.
