KATHMANDU: Bayern Munich tightened their grip on the Bundesliga title race with a dramatic 3–2 victory over Borussia Dortmund in a pulsating Der Klassiker, stretching their lead at the top of the table to 11 points.

The high-octane contest lived up to its billing, with Dortmund striking first in the 26th minute.

Nico Schlotterbeck rose highest to head home a pinpoint free-kick delivery from Daniel Svensson, handing the hosts an early advantage.

Bayern responded with authority after the break. Harry Kane leveled the score in the 54th minute, finishing calmly from a precise pass by Serge Gnabry.

The England captain then completed the turnaround in the 70th minute, converting from the penalty spot to put Bayern 2–1 ahead.

Dortmund refused to fold. Svensson struck again in the 83rd minute to restore parity and set up a tense finale.

But with just three minutes remaining, Joshua Kimmich produced the decisive moment, rifling home the winner to seal a statement victory for the Bavarians.

Bayern expertly managed the closing stages to see out the result, a win that moves them a major step closer to another Bundesliga crown.

Dortmund remain second, but the title race is now firmly in Bayern’s control.
