Barcola strike sends PSG back to Ligue 1 top with 1-0 win over Auxerre

KATHMANDU: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) returned to the top of Ligue 1 after a narrow 1-0 victory over Auxerre, thanks to Bradley Barcola’s decisive goal.

The match-winning moment came in the 79th minute when Barcola converted a precise pass from Ousmane Dembélé, securing all three points for PSG and leapfrogging Lens to reclaim first place in the standings.

PSG dominated the first half, creating numerous chances, but Auxerre goalkeeper Donovan Léon was in superb form, denying efforts from Barcola, Gonzalo Ramos, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The second half saw PSG maintain relentless pressure, and despite some wasted opportunities, Barcola ultimately broke the deadlock to seal the victory.
