KATHMANDU: FC Barcelona moved back to the top of the La Liga standings with a commanding 3–0 victory over Levante UD on Sunday at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona dominated from the opening whistle and took an early lead in the fourth minute when Marc Bernal found the back of the net with a composed finish.

The hosts doubled their advantage in the 32nd minute through Frenkie de Jong, who capped off a flowing team move to give Barça a 2–0 cushion at half-time.

Levante had a rare chance to respond when Carlos Álvarez tested Barcelona goalkeeper Joan García, who produced a fine save.

At the other end, Jules Koundé went close but failed to convert a promising opportunity.

Barcelona pressed for more after the break, with efforts from Robert Lewandowski and Dani Olmo denied by Levante goalkeeper Mathew Ryan.

Levante substitute Paco Cortés also had a chance, but Barcelona’s defense stood firm.

The victory was sealed nine minutes from time when Fermín López finished clinically from a pass by teenage star Lamine Yamal, wrapping up a dominant display from the Catalan giants.
