KATHMANDU: In the ACC U-19 Asia Cup, Nepal suffered a seven-wicket defeat against Bangladesh in today’s match at The Sevens Cricket Ground in Dubai, UAE.

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to field first.

Nepal, batting first, was bowled out for 130 runs in 31.1 overs.

Abhishek Tiwari top-scored with 30 runs, while Aashish Luhar contributed 23 and Sahil Patel 18 runs.

In response, Bangladesh chased down the target of 131 runs in 24.5 overs, losing three wickets.

Javad Abrar starred with an unbeaten 70 off 68 balls, including seven fours and three sixes, while Kalam Siddiqui added 34 runs off 66 balls.

For Nepal, Abhishek Tiwari and Yuvraj Khatri picked up one wicket each.

Bangladesh’s bowling was led by Md Sobuj with three wickets, while Shad Islam, Azizul Haque, and Shahriar Ahmed took two wickets apiece.

Earlier, Nepal had lost their opening match against Test nation Sri Lanka on Mangsir 27 by eight wickets.
