Bagmati Province CM Lama submits resignation
Lama had announced his resignation from the post on Sunday, citing Article 169(1)(a) of the Constitution of Nepal as the basis for stepping down.
KATHMANDU: Bagmati Province Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama has formally submitted his resignation to the Province Chief.
On Monday, Lama’s personal secretary, Chhatra Bahadur Lama, presented the resignation letter to Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota’s Chief Personal Secretary, Balram Gaire.
Lama had announced his resignation from the post on Sunday, citing Article 169(1)(a) of the Constitution of Nepal as the basis for stepping down.
Meanwhile, Province Chief Devkota, who had been undergoing medical treatment at Grande International Hospital in Dhapasi, Kathmandu since 15th Shrawan due to health issues, returned to his office on Monday.
Following the submission of Lama’s resignation, the process to appoint a new Chief Minister will now commence.
