KATHMANDU: The oath-taking ceremony for the newly appointed ministers of Bagmati Province, which was scheduled for 1 PM today, has been postponed at the last moment due to an unexpected health issue faced by Province Chief Dipak Prasad Devkota.

The Office of the Province Chief issued an official notice informing that the ceremony has been postponed until further notice.

The statement mentioned that Chief Devkota had to leave for Kathmandu for urgent medical treatment, making him unable to attend the scheduled program.

“The Province Chief suddenly developed health complications and had to leave for Kathmandu for treatment. Therefore, he will not be able to participate in today’s event,” read the official notice.

Devendra Sapkota, the spokesperson for the Province Chief’s Office, also confirmed that Devkota has already departed for Kathmandu for treatment.

With the preparations already completed and the date and time fixed, the postponement means the newly appointed ministers will now have to wait for a new date to be announced for the oath-taking ceremony.
