Suárez Double Sinks PSG as Sporting Stun Champions

Sporting CP stunned reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) with a 2-1 victory in their Champions League clash on Tuesday.

Luis Suárez was the hero for the Portuguese side, scoring both goals, including a decisive winner in stoppage time.

PSG had briefly threatened to level the score when Khvicha Kvaratskhelia struck in the 79th minute, giving the visitors hope of salvaging a draw.

However, Suárez ensured Sporting’s triumph with a header from Trincão’s rebound in the 90th minute, leaving PSG’s chances of advancing to the knockout stage in jeopardy.

The match started with PSG creating early opportunities but failing to convert. Fabian Ruiz appeared to score with a header, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR review ruled a foul. Despite several attempts, the defending champions could not find the net until Kvaratskhelia’s strike.

Suárez, though, had the final say, demonstrating his experience and composure to deliver a stunning upset for Sporting CP.

Bodø/Glimt Stuns Manchester City

Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt defeated Manchester City 3-1 at home.

Kasper Hoeg was the star, scoring twice to give Bodø a commanding lead.

Hoeg opened the scoring with a header in the 22nd minute from Ole Didrik Blomberg’s cross and doubled the lead two minutes later.

Jens Petter Hauge added a spectacular long-range goal in the 58th minute to make it 3-0.

Ryan Cherki pulled one back for City in the 60th minute, but shortly after, Rodri was sent off following two quick yellow cards, leaving City with ten men.

Bodø remained dominant throughout, even having a goal ruled out for offside.

The win keeps Bodø/Glimt’s hopes of reaching the playoffs alive, while Manchester City’s ambitions of making the top eight have suffered a major setback.

Real Madrid Crushes Monaco

Real Madrid delivered a stunning 6-1 victory over Monaco in the Champions League, with Kylian Mbappé scoring twice and Vinícius Júnior impressing with a goal and brilliant overall play.

Mbappé opened the scoring just five minutes into the game, giving Real an early lead. He doubled the advantage in the 26th minute, assisted by Vinícius.

Monaco created a few chances before halftime but failed to find the net.

The second half belonged entirely to Real Madrid. Franco Mastantuono scored his first Champions League goal in the 51st minute, followed by an own goal from Monaco’s Thilo Kehrer in the 55th minute, further extending Real’s lead.

Vinícius added another stunning strike in the 63rd minute. Jordan Teze pulled one back for Monaco in the 72nd minute, but Jude Bellingham sealed the emphatic win with a goal in the 80th minute.

With this dominant performance, Real Madrid climbed to second place in the group standings.
