KATHMANDU: Arsenal booked their place in the League Cup semifinals after defeating Crystal Palace 8–7 in a dramatic penalty shootout, with goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga emerging as the hero.

Arsenal took the lead in the 80th minute when Crystal Palace defender Maxence Lacroix turned the ball into his own net.
However, Palace fought back deep into stoppage time, as Marc Guéhi scored in the fifth minute of injury time to force penalties.
Arsenal had a late chance to seal victory in normal time, but Declan Rice was denied by an outstanding save from Palace goalkeeper Walter Benítez.
In the shootout, Arrizabalaga made the decisive save by stopping Lacroix’s penalty, securing Arsenal’s 8–7 win.
The Gunners will now face London rivals Chelsea in the semifinals as they chase a place in the final.
