Arrest warrant issued against MP Rayamajhi
The Parsa District Court issued the warrant on (Jestha 16, naming Raymajhi as an absconding accused.
KATHMANDU: An arrest warrant has been issued against Suman Sharma Rayamajhi, proportional representative MP of Lumbini Province and a provincial assembly member of Janamat Party, in connection with a banking offense.
The Parsa District Court issued the warrant on (Jestha 16, naming Rayamajhi as an absconding accused.
Following the court’s order, Parsa police on Asar 3 requested Bardiya police to search Rayamajhi’s residence for her arrest.
The case was filed by Asha Kumari Chauhan from Pokhariya, Parsa, who lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Parsa.
Raymajhi reportedly took a loan of Rs 550,000 from Chauhan and issued a cheque, which bounced due to insufficient funds.
Although the court ordered Rayamajhi’s arrest and presentation before the court, Bardiya police have stated they have yet to receive any official communication.
The cheque bounce incident involving a provincial assembly member has raised serious questions about the integrity of elected officials within the Janamat Party.
