ANFA urges football bodies to watch ‘Anjila’ movie
ANFA has further called on sports fans to honor the struggles and successes of Nepali football by watching the film.
KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has requested its affiliated bodies to watch the movie “Anjila”, based on the real-life story of Nepal’s national women’s football team captain and goalkeeper, Anjila Tumbapo Subba.
In a collective communication sent on Monday, ANFA urged its 7 provinces, 48 district associations, 4 federations (players, coaches, women, referees), and 42 clubs, categorized A, B, and C, to arrange group screenings of the film at nearby theaters. It also encouraged them to promote the movie on social media.
ANFA has further called on sports fans to honor the struggles and successes of Nepali football by watching the film.
“Anjila” is currently being shown across the country. The film is centered around Anjila’s difficult journey from Ilam to the national football team, highlighting not just her football career, but also the societal, familial, and personal challenges, dreams, and inner strength she has overcome.
The movie is not just the story of a football player; it represents the journey of every Nepali youth who dares to dream, struggles, and achieves success.
The film is inspirational and has become a must-watch Nepali biopic.
It was also announced prior to the film’s release that the funds raised from the movie would be used to build a house for Anjila.
