KATHMANDU: Al-Nassr strengthened their grip at the top of the Saudi Pro League with a solid 2-0 victory against Al-Okhdood.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 15th minute, finishing clinically from a well-timed assist by Nawaf Boushal to give his side an early advantage.

Al Nassr thought they had doubled their lead in the 22nd minute through Mohamed Simakan, but the goal was ruled out for handball.

Despite further chances from Kingsley Coman and Ronaldo, the score remained unchanged heading into halftime.

Shortly after the break, the hosts sealed the win. A cross from Sadio Mané led to Coman’s header striking the post, before João Félix reacted quickest to slot home the rebound and make it 2-0.

Under the guidance of Jorge Jesus, Al-Nassr have now secured their 13th consecutive league victory, extending their lead at the summit to five points and reinforcing their title ambitions.
