Al-Nassr crush Al-Jazeera 5-1, keep perfect AFC CL record

KATHMANDU: Al-Nassr continued their dominant run in the AFC Champions League as they hammered Al-Jazeera 5-1 in a Group D clash, keeping their perfect record intact in the group stage.
The Saudi Pro League side was led by Kingsley Coman, who starred with a brace, while Joao Felix and Cristiano Ronaldo also found the net.
Despite the heavy defeat, Al-Jazeera progressed to the knockout stage, surpassing FC Istiklol on goal difference.
The match, held at King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, saw Coman open the scoring in the 12th minute.
Hussein Falah’s misplaced pass allowed Coman to connect with Angelos and slot home Al-Nassr’s first goal.
Al-Jazeera’s defensive lapse during a corner in the 19th minute allowed Wesley to double the home side’s lead.
Abdullah Al-Amri then converted Joao Felix’s corner with a header in the 29th minute to make it 3-0.
Cristiano Ronaldo assisted Felix for Al-Nassr’s fourth goal just before halftime. In the second half, Ronaldo was substituted for Mohammed Maran.
Al Jazeera pulled one back in the 50th minute when Ibrahim Gbadamosi netted from Mohammed Qasim’s pass.
However, Coman sealed the emphatic 5-1 victory in the 56th minute, combining again with Felix to score Al-Nassr’s fifth.
