KATHMANDU: Al-Hilal secured a crucial 3–1 victory over rivals Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, delivering a major setback to Nassr’s title ambitions.

Cristiano Ronaldo gave Al-Nassr an early lead in the 42nd minute, converting from the penalty spot.

However, Al-Hilal staged a strong comeback in the second half to turn the match in their favor.

Early in the second half, Nassr defender Mohammed Simakan fouled Malcom inside the box, earning Al-Hilal a penalty.

Salem Al-Dawsari made no mistake from the spot in the 57th minute, leveling the score.

Moments later, tensions flared between Nassr goalkeeper Nawaf Al-Aqidi and Ruben Neves. Following a VAR review, Al-Aqidi was shown a red card, leaving Al-Nassr reduced to 10 men.

Taking advantage of the numerical superiority, Al-Hilal went ahead in the 81st minute through Mohammed Kanno. In stoppage time, Ruben Neves sealed the victory with another penalty.

With this win, Al-Hilal extend their lead at the top of the Saudi Pro League table to seven points, strengthening their grip on the title race.
