KATHMANDU: A sensational unbeaten knock from Ibrahim Zadran powered Afghanistan national cricket team to a commanding total of 200/4 against Canada national cricket team in their ICC T20 World Cup 2026 match at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium on Thursday.

After being asked to bat first, Afghanistan endured a shaky start, losing two early wickets with just 49 runs on the board.

However, Zadran steadied the innings in style, forging a crucial 95-run partnership for the third wicket with Sediqullah Atal, shifting the momentum firmly in Afghanistan’s favour.

Zadran produced a masterclass in controlled aggression, remaining unbeaten on 95 off 56 deliveries, smashing seven boundaries and five towering sixes.

Atal contributed a brisk 44 from 32 balls, while Rahmanullah Gurbaz added valuable late impetus with 30 off just 20 balls.

Their combined efforts propelled Afghanistan to their highest-ever team total in T20 World Cup history — a formidable 200 for 4 in 20 overs.

For Canada, Jaskaran Singh emerged as the standout bowler with three wickets, while Dillon Heyliger chipped in with one scalp.

Canada now face a daunting task of chasing down 201 runs on a surface known to test batters under pressure.
