SIMKOT, Humla: The district hospital here has started providing adolescent-friendly health service as part of its outpatient services.

The hospital began this service last Wednesday.

According to Dr Umakanta Tiwari, head of the Health Service Office, this service has been started targeting youngsters aged nine to nineteen in the district.

On Wednesday and Thursday, ten people took the service.

Under this service, teenagers will also get advice on periods and related issues and how to deal with them, using temporary birth control methods, abortion, problems from unsafe abortions, and managing mental and reproductive health issues.
