KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City’s Acting Chief, Sunita Dangol, has directed all relevant departments and stakeholders to implement the school-focused HPV vaccination program in an organized manner.

The campaign was inaugurated on Tuesday at Padyakanya Secondary School in Dillibazar, where Dangol urged the city’s health department and all associated agencies to ensure the successful rollout of the program.

The government is providing the cervical cancer-preventive HPV vaccine free of cost. Dangol emphasized the importance of timely vaccination and called on schoolgirls across the metropolitan area to take advantage of this initiative.

The vaccination drive aims to curb the rising fatalities from cervical cancer, offering protection through organized school-based campaigns.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City has also urged all eligible beneficiaries to participate and benefit from the program.
