On Monday, the Council of Ministers held a meeting at Baluwatar, where they officially appointed Thapa as the IGP. With this appointment, Thapa became the 31st Inspector General of Nepal Police.

After receiving the Badge of Honor, IGP Thapa expressed his commitment to establishing a system based on merit rather than influence.
