347 injured nationwide in Gen Z protests

KATHMANDU: At least 19 people have lost their lives and 347 others have been injured across Nepal during the ongoing Gen-Z protests, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The ministry confirmed that three people died while receiving treatment at Civil Hospital, where over 100 others remain under care.

Six patients are currently being treated at Bir Hospital, while the National Trauma Center reported 59 patients under treatment and eight fatalities.

At Baneshwor-based Everest Hospital, 102 people are undergoing treatment and three have died, with eight patients referred elsewhere.

Patan Academy of Health Sciences is treating four individuals, and Kathmandu Medical College is treating 37 patients, where two deaths have been reported. Six of the injured require surgery, the ministry said.

Norvic Hospital is treating three patients, while Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital is treating 18 patients, with one confirmed death.

Outside the Kathmandu Valley, Gandaki Medical College is treating one patient, Pokhara Health Sciences Academy two, Birat Medical College four, and Damak Hospital seven.

The ministry further confirmed that two protesters died while receiving treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.

The government has deployed emergency services to manage the situation as protests continue nationwide.
