KATHMANDU: Lamjung district headquarters Besishahar is set to host the 33rd Triveni Cup Nationwide Football Tournament, beginning Poush 12 (Dec 27).
The prestigious competition will take place at the Besishahar–Sahaji football ground and feature 16 teams from across Nepal.
One of the major highlights of this year’s edition is the live and exclusive broadcast of all matches through the DishHome GO app and Action Sports HD1 television channel.
Organizers believe this initiative will allow football fans at home and abroad to enjoy the excitement of the tournament in real time.
The champions will receive Rs 1.2 million, along with the trophy, medals, and certificates, while the runners-up will take home Rs 600,000.
Individual awards have also been announced: the Best Player, Top Scorer, and Best Goalkeeper will each be awarded Rs 25,000, along with a trophy and certificate. Additionally, the Man of the Match in each game will receive Rs 10,000 and a trophy.
The participating teams include APF FC, Sundarbazar FC, NRT, Bhanu United, Suryapur Chitwan, Lamjung Marsyangdi, Satdobato FC, Laligurans Bhujung, Thadarai Samaj, Samaj Kalyan, Langdidevi Nalmya, Chitlang FC, Shree Bhagwati FC, Triveni Youth Club, Church Boys United FC, and Buddha Youth Club.
The organizers have announced that all matches will be broadcast free of cost via DishHome GO and Action Sports HD1, while also encouraging football lovers to visit Besishahar in person to experience the thrilling atmosphere of the tournament.
