CIAA files corruption case against land office official over Rs 200,000 bribe

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case at the Special Court against Naib Subba Om Bahadur Khamcha, who was working at the Land Revenue Office, Bhairahawa, Rupandehi, on corruption charges.

Khamcha was arrested by a CIAA team some time ago while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 200,000 from a service seeker for processing land record updates and ownership transfer.

Following confirmation of the bribe-taking, the CIAA has sought punishment including imprisonment and a fine equivalent to the amount involved, according to spokesperson Suresh Neupane.
