26 political parties registered for Rupandehi-3 by-election
According to Assistant Secretary and Spokesperson Nita Pokharel Aryal, out of 27 parties that applied, 26 were registered after fulfilling all legal requirements.
KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has officially registered 26 political parties to contest in the by-election for Rupandehi Constituency No. 3, scheduled for Kartik 17.
According to Assistant Secretary and Spokesperson Nita Pokharel Aryal, out of 27 parties that applied, 26 were registered after fulfilling all legal requirements.
The registration was carried out in accordance with Article 271 of the Constitution of Nepal and Section 48 of the Political Parties Act, 2016 (2073 BS).
Among the first to register was the Mongol National Organization, followed by major and emerging political forces including: Rastriya Prajatantra Party, Nepali Congress, CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN-UML, Janamat Party, Janata Samajbadi Party, Rastriya Swatantra Party, and Nepal Samajwadi Party (Naya Shakti), among others.
Other registered groups include Rastriya Janamorcha, Nepal Communist Party (Marxist–Pushpalal), CPN (Unified Socialist), CPN (Male), Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, National Republic Nepal, Rastriya Matribhumi Party, Nepali Janata Dal, Nepal Janamukti Party, Hamro Nepali Party, Bahujan Shakti Party, and Khumbuwan Rastriya Morcha.
The commission has also announced the election calendar, setting Ashoj 21 as the date for candidate nominations.
