KATHMANDU: A total of 2,499 central committee members of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) took their oath of office today.
The oath was administered by party coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the party’s central office in Paris Danda.
Although the unification of several parties—including the Maoist Centre and the CPN (Unified Socialist)—was completed in the third week of Kartik, the central committee had not been formally adjusted until now.
The new NCP has formed a jumbo-sized central committee by merging central members from both major and smaller parties.
This marks the first-ever adjustment of the central committee since the party was formed through the unification of 19 parties, including the Maoist Centre, Unified Socialist, and Nepal Socialist Party.
