Woman injured in tiger attack

KATHMANDU: A woman was injured in a tiger attack in Manahari Rural Municipality-9, Jyamire, Makwanpur district on Thursday afternoon.

According to police, 40-year-old Phoolmaya Chepang was attacked by the tiger while she was collecting grass in the Jyamine Buffer Zone Community Forest along with three other women.

She sustained injuries to her neck and cheek in the incident.

The tiger retreated into the forest after the other women shouted for help. Phoolmaya is currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital in Manahari.
