53 held in Tinkune case granted more 2-days police custody
The police are now in the final stages of investigating the Tinkune case.

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Police have secured an additional two-day custody extension for 53 individuals arrested in connection with the recent Tinkune incident, including Durga Prasai.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Apilraj Bohara of the Kathmandu District Police Office stated that the District Court of Kathmandu granted permission to extend the investigation period by two days. “The investigation is still ongoing, which is why we requested the extension,” he explained.
The police are now in the final stages of investigating the Tinkune case.
Among those detained, 26—including Prasain—are being investigated for charges related to crimes against the state and organized crime.
The remaining 27 suspects are under investigation for involvement in criminal disturbance.
The police plan to submit their investigation report to the Kathmandu Office of the Attorney General within the next few days.
Following the submission, the Attorney General’s office will initiate prosecution and formally register the case at the Kathmandu District Court.
Meanwhile, 37 individuals involved in the incident, including Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) senior vice president Rabindra Mishra and general secretary and Member of Parliament Dhawal Shamsher Rana, have been released on bail.
