United Cements empowers 42 women in Dhunibeshi with sewing training
The three-month basic tailoring course and an additional two-month advanced training program were conducted from Mangsir 16 to Baisakh 22.

KATHMANDU: United Cements Limited, under its corporate social responsibility initiative, has provided free basic and advanced sewing training to 42 women from Dhunibeshi Municipality in collaboration with Ward No. 9 of the municipality.
The three-month basic tailoring course and an additional two-month advanced training program were conducted from Mangsir 16 to Baisakh 22.
The program aimed to empower local women by enhancing their skills and creating pathways for income generation.
United Cements, a part of the KL Dugar Group based in Jugedi, Dhunibeshi, emphasized that the initiative was launched to support women’s self-reliance and contribute to their economic empowerment.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Hari Kumar Upreti, General Manager of United Cements Limited, stated, “Alongside our business goals, we prioritize social responsibility. This training program has boosted the confidence of participating women and opened up new opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.”
Ward Chairperson of Dhunibeshi-9 and chair of the closing ceremony, Madhav Prasad Silwal, extended his gratitude to United Cements for organizing such a meaningful program. He highlighted that the initiative would play a vital role in uplifting the living standards and financial independence of women in the area.
The event was graced by Dhunibeshi Municipality Mayor Balkrishna Acharya as the chief guest.
