KC alleges major corruption in Pokhara Airport Project
KC called for the report to be submitted to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) along with a supplementary opinion for further action.

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress lawmaker Arjun Narasingha KC has alleged large-scale financial irregularities in the construction of Pokhara International Airport.
Speaking at a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee on Wednesday, KC claimed the entire project was riddled with corruption.
“This is a case of complete corruption,” he stated, emphasizing that the burden of high-interest loans taken for the airport’s construction has been unfairly placed on the shoulders of the Nepali people.
KC expressed concern over the trend of remaining silent on such issues, warning against the normalization of such practices. He criticized the decision to award the construction contract not to a Nepali firm but to a foreign contractor, implying that fear of offending the involved country has led to attempts to conceal corruption in official reports.
“This is not about diplomatic relations between Nepal and China, the U.S., or India,” he said. “It’s about accountability of a contractor company. Hiding corruption in the name of international friendship is unacceptable.”
He noted that the committee’s report on the project was based on findings from an on-site inspection, which revealed irregularities and financial misconduct in the contract process.
KC called for the report to be submitted to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) along with a supplementary opinion for further action.
