KATHMANDU: CPN-UML lawmaker Gokul Prasad Baskota has stated that the subcommittee report on the Pokhara Regional International Airport remains incomplete and requires further investigation.

Speaking at Wednesday’s meeting of the Public Accounts Committee, Baskota clarified that his remarks in the report should not be seen as a “dissenting opinion” but rather as a “supplementary opinion.” He acknowledged the effort that went into preparing the report but pointed out that certain crucial aspects were missing.

“There has been hard work on the report, but some key data points were not adequately addressed,” said Baskota. He emphasized the need to further study areas such as the airport’s agreements, handover process, and key transfer procedures.

“It’s not a dissenting opinion — I’d call it a supplementary one,” he said. “We tried to uncover facts, but we couldn’t retrieve all the necessary data. Investigation is needed — not just to prove a claim but to understand what really happened.”

Baskota mentioned that while the report includes everything, it still lacks substance in some areas. “There’s everything, yet there’s nothing — that’s what I told the media when the report was submitted,” he added.

He stressed the need for a more in-depth study of the Pokhara International Airport project to ensure all relevant facts are brought to light.
