Elderly man dies of electric shock in Sarlahi

KATHMANDU: A 70-year-old man, Mahadev Mahato, a resident of Godaita Rural Municipality-2, died on Tuesday afternoon after suffering an electric shock.

According to police, the incident occurred at Mahato Tole in Balara Municipality-5, where he came into contact with an electric current from a water pump fitted with an electric motor.

Mahato sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Malangawa, where he died during treatment.

Police said further investigation into the incident is underway.
