KATHMANDU: The Nagdhunga–Naubise section, a key entry point to the Kathmandu Valley, will be closed daily for four and a half hours from May 24 to June 8 to expedite road construction works.

According to Kathmandu Chief District Officer Rishiram Tiwari, the road will be closed every day from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM based on a proposal by the Nagdhunga–Pipalamod Road Project. “Demolition work was previously carried out at night, but due to technical reasons, construction must now be done during the day,” CDO Tiwari said.

Authorities have requested all travelers and drivers to use alternative routes during the closure period.

The Narayanghat–Muglin Road Project (Eastern Section) has issued a public notice stating that vehicles leaving Kathmandu will be stopped at Nagdhunga, while vehicles entering the capital will be halted at Khanikhola.

During the road closure, travelers are advised to use alternative routes such as Dharke–Sitapaila and Tokha–Chhahare–Trishuli–Galchhi roads.
