NEPSE index surges by 49.09 points, closes at 2,677.45

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index witnessed a significant gain of 49.09 points on Monday, marking a 1.86% rise to close at 2,677.45 points.

A total of 229 companies saw an increase in their share prices, while 15 declined and one remained unchanged.

During the day, the market recorded 73,054 transactions, with over 16.88 million shares traded.

The total turnover stood at an impressive Rs 7.31 billion.

All sectoral indices closed in the green, with Hotels & Tourism gaining the most at 236 points, followed by Non-life Insurance, which rose by 215.54 points.

Shares of Sindhu Development Bank and Saptakoshi Bikas Bank hit the upper circuit, surging by 10% each.
