KATHMANDU: The film ‘Janai Haryeako Bahun: Sambandhaka Dhagaharu’ is scheduled to hit theatres on August 22 (Bhadra 6).

The production team revealed this on Monday along with the release of a symbolic scene that hints at the film’s core storyline.

The symbolic image features a man standing before a setting sun, with a large airplane flying overhead and the shadow of a mansion-like structure nearby.

The lower portion of the scene is shaded in blue while the upper part reflects the glow of dusk.

Though the character is not clearly identified, it is likely to be the film’s lead actor, Bijay Baral.

The scene, with its depiction of a thin man, a setting sun, and a plane flying westward, suggests the theme of foreign employment—a powerful visual symbol in Nepali cinema.

The story revolves around a son who migrates from his rural home to the city in hopes of restoring his mother’s lost happiness by earning wealth. The film aims to portray the emotional journey and struggles he undergoes, as highlighted in the first look.

Janai Haryeako Bahun: Sambandhaka Dhagaharu has completed shooting and is now in post-production. It marks the directorial debut of Himal Nyaupane, and has been shot in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Kavre.

The narrative captures the transformation of a simple man from a village as he navigates life in the city, with a deep focus on the emotional bond between mother and son.

Manish Raut, known for Prem Geet 3, serves as the associate director.

The film boasts a strong cast led by Bijay Baral, Keki Adhikari, Miruna Magar, Gaurav Pahari, and Sushank Mainali. It also features performances by Bhola Raj Sapkota, Riar Rai, Bhavana Khapangi Magar, Rupesh Lama, and Suman Thapa.

Produced under the Paperclip Production banner, the film’s producers are Kamal Nyaupane and Bimal Nyaupane. Co-producers include R.K. Manandhar, Rupesh Lama, C.R. Basnet, Philip DC, Narayan Timilsina, and Chudamani Sibakoti.

The story, screenplay, and dialogues are penned by Bhanubhakta Dhakal. The chief assistant director is Dinesh Bahadur Raut, with Tarkaraj Nyaupane, Ravindra Nepal, Monika Thapa, and Akash K.C. as assistant directors.

The music is composed by Thaneshwor Gautam, Arjun Pokhrel, S.D. Yogi, and Prashant Sibakoti.

Naveen Gurung is the DOP, with Krishna Pariyar handling cinematography.

Laxman Raj Paudel serves as the production controller.

The production team has announced that the first-look poster will be unveiled in the coming days.
