KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Dhurva Bahadur Pradhan has stressed the urgent need for good governance in Nepal, stating that citizens are demanding practical solutions over political slogans.

Speaking at Monday’s session of the House of Representatives, MP Pradhan said, “Farmers need fertilizers, not republic slogans.

The people want good governance, not mere talks of republicanism. Cooperative victims want their money back, not speeches about the republic.”

He criticized what he called “sponsored narratives” that ignore public sentiment and faith, and warned against undermining the people’s beliefs. “Representing public sentiment should not be mocked or politicized,” he added.

Highlighting a history of political violence, MP Pradhan said that under the guise of political change, the country has witnessed hijackings, bombings, and theft of public property—including banks. “Planes have been hijacked, bombs thrown, people attacked with hammers, and public property looted—all in the name of change,” he said. “Now, even the country is being looted.”

He further warned that if force is used to suppress people’s beliefs, citizens will be deprived of basic services. Pradhan called for peaceful solutions and urged leaders to focus on delivering real improvements to people’s lives.
