Woman killed in motorcycle accident
Following the incident, police have taken the motorcycle rider, Ramesh Mehta, into custody.
KATHMANDU: A 45-year-old woman died in a motorcycle accident at Triveni Chowk in Ratuwamai Municipality-6 on Sunday evening.
According to police, the victim has been identified as Bhawani Mehta of Ratuwamai-5.
The accident occurred around 7 PM when a motorcycle, registered as Province 1-02045 P 9060 and driven by her 23-year-old son Ramesh Mehta, lost control while trying to avoid hitting a dog on the road.
The motorcycle was headed from Ambari to Urlabari when it skidded and crashed.
Bhawani Mehta, who sustained serious injuries in the incident, was rushed to Rangeli Hospital for treatment.
However, she was pronounced dead by doctors at 7:10 PM.
Following the incident, police have taken the motorcycle rider, Ramesh Mehta, into custody.
An investigation into the accident is currently underway, according to the District Police Office, Morang.
