KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecasted changing weather patterns across Nepal due to the influence of a western disturbance, local winds, and moisture-laden air from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea.

Currently, Koshi and Gandaki Provinces, along with other hilly regions, are experiencing partly to generally cloudy skies.

The rest of the country is witnessing mostly clear to partly cloudy conditions. Isolated areas across all provinces are experiencing light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.

This afternoon, partly to generally cloudy weather is expected in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces.

Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in these provinces.

Light snowfall and rain are also expected at one or two places in the high hilly and Himalayan regions.

There is a chance of strong winds in parts of the Tarai areas of Madhesh, Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim Provinces.

Tonight, partly to generally cloudy skies are expected over the hilly regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini Provinces, while the rest of the country will have mostly clear to partly cloudy weather.

The Department has urged the public to stay alert as rainfall, thunderstorms, winds, and snowfall may affect daily life, agriculture, health, road travel, and air transport.
