KATHMANDU: The parliamentary sub-committee formed under the Education Committee of the House of Representatives has submitted its report on the School Education Bill.

The report was presented during a committee meeting held on Sunday at Singha Durbar.

The sub-committee, led by Chhabilal Bishwakarma, handed over the report outlining key recommendations and amendments to the bill.

Coordinator Bishwakarma informed that the sub-committee had reviewed all 15 chapters and 163 sections of the bill and made 108 specific recommendations.

Among these, 101 sections have been revised, while 13 new sections have been added.

According to him, four sections have been removed entirely, and 13 new provisions have been incorporated.

Meanwhile, consensus was reached on 62 sections of the bill as originally proposed by the government.

The sub-committee was formed on Chaitra 8, 2081 (March 21, 2025), during a meeting of the Education Committee.

The government aims to pass the bill during the current session of Parliament.
