Scooter crash near NOC in Biratnagar, one dead

KATHMANDU: A man died in a scooter accident near the Nepal Oil Corporation office in Biratnagar Metropolitan City–3 late Saturday night.

According to police, the scooter (Province 1–02–050 Pa 9796) was heading from Kharji to Kanchanbari when it lost control and crashed.

The rider, approximately 55-year-old Mohammad Abdul Kalam of Biratnagar–6, sustained critical injuries in the accident.

He was rushed to Nobel Teaching Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Preliminary investigations suggest the accident occurred due to overspeeding, police said.
