Mayor Balen cancels Japan visit
The visit was planned for a Smart City International Training Workshop to be held in Japan from Baisakh 30 to Jestha 1.

KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balendra Shah has canceled his scheduled visit to Japan after the government’s formal approval came too late, according to his secretariat.
The visit was planned for a Smart City International Training Workshop to be held in Japan from Baisakh 30 to Jestha 1.
Although the Council of Ministers had approved the trip on Baisakh 25) the decision was not communicated in time for necessary preparations.
Mayor Shah was supposed to depart on Sunday, but with the official approval reaching his office just days before the flight, there wasn’t enough time to complete travel formalities.
His secretariat cited the short notice as the primary reason for canceling the trip.
The official decision regarding the approval was made public only today.
