MP Barali criticizes lack of action against MP Bishnu Prasad Panthi
MP Barali questioned why Panthe was not arrested, despite attending a public event with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

KATHMANDU: Member of Parliament (MP) Ranendra Barali of the CPN (Maoist Centre) has expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of action against MP Bishnu Prasad Panthi of the CPN (UML) in the Lumbini Province, despite a warrant for his arrest.
Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, MP Barali questioned why Panthe was not arrested, despite attending a public event with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
MP Panthe, who is facing an arrest warrant, was seen participating as the chief guest at the Buddha Jayanti celebrations held in Lumbini on Monday, an event also attended by Prime Minister Oli.
Barali expressed his concern, saying that despite the warrant, Panthe was still able to attend such a high-profile event without being apprehended, raising questions about the government’s commitment to good governance.
Barali criticized the government’s failure to act, stating, “This is the model of governance we are witnessing. The individual with an arrest warrant, a member of the ruling party, is still seen sitting next to the Prime Minister at a public event. How can we expect good governance under such circumstances?”
Additionally, MP Barali pointed out the delay in appointing a governor, which he claimed had caused embarrassment on the international stage.
He emphasized that the current situation was clear for all to see, questioning what should be happening versus what actually was.
Barali concluded by noting that citizens are watching these developments closely, highlighting the growing concerns over the government’s inaction and inefficiency in critical matters.
