IPL 2025 to resume on May 17
The grand finale is set for June 3.

KATHMANDU: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the revised schedule for the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, following a temporary suspension due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
According to the newly released schedule, the tournament will resume on May 17 with a high-stakes clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders in Bengaluru.
The grand finale is set for June 3.
A total of 17 matches are to be played across six Indian cities — Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Ahmedabad.
In a statement released on Monday, the BCCI said:
“We are pleased to announce the resumption of TATA IPL 2025. After thorough discussions with the government, security agencies, and all stakeholders, we have decided to proceed with the remaining fixtures.”
IPL Suspended Midway Amid Border Tensions
The league had been abruptly paused following reports of cross-border hostilities.
The incident occurred during a match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala, when Pakistan allegedly initiated attacks on Indian territory.
This led to a temporary halt in the tournament and uncertainty over its conclusion.
