Dayahang & Rishma’s ‘Rimai’ set to release on Sept 12

KATHMANDU: Under the direction of Khil Bahadur Gurung, movie Rimai has officially unveiled its first look posters, along with an announcement of its global release date.
Marking the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, the film’s team released three first look posters on Monday, revealing that the movie is slated for a worldwide release on Bhadra 27 (Sept 12).
The first poster features lead actors Dayahang Rai and Rishma Gurung, capturing an emotional and culturally rooted moment.
The second poster introduces Gaumaya Gurung alongside the duo, giving a glimpse into the central trio of the narrative.
The third poster presents a broader ensemble, including all key characters, showcasing the film’s rich and diverse cast.
These posters reflect the traditional Gurung cultural elements and costumes, suggesting that the film will deeply explore ethnic identity, heritage, and storytelling.
The makers believe that these visuals have sparked significant curiosity and enthusiasm among audiences.
Produced by Gorkha Siranchok and Ligligkot Films Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with Roteping Entertainment, Rimai boasts a powerful ensemble cast including Dayahang Rai, Rishma Gurung, Buddhi Tamang, Gaumaya Gurung, Arpan Thapa, Kavita Ale Magar, Maotse Gurung, Pushkar Gurung, Bir Maya Gurung, Birbal Ghale, DB Gurung, Tek Gurung, and child actors Asim Subba, Prestu Gurung, and Prashna Rana Magar.
The film is penned by renowned writer Upendra Subba, with cinematography by Shailendra Dhoj Karki. Veerbal Ghale serves as executive producer, while Tika Gurung, Jit Yatri Gurung, and Dun Bahadur Ghale are producers. Binu Gurung, Roshan Bhattarai, and Rajesh Ghimire have joined as co-producers.
Rimai features music by Deepak Sharma and Thaneshwor Gautam, with Kiran Chamling Rai as chief assistant director, Bishnu Mainali as production manager, and Mitra D. Gurung as editor.
