Attorney General lays foundation for Patan High Govt Attorney Office building

KATHMANDU: On the occasion of Buddha Jayanti, Attorney General Ramesh Badal laid the foundation stone for the new building of the High Government Attorney Office in Patan, marking a significant milestone in strengthening Nepal’s legal infrastructure.
Speaking at the ceremony, Attorney General Badal emphasized the importance of the project, stating, “The construction of this office in Patan is a major achievement. It will greatly facilitate legal operations. It is essential to complete the building on time with assured quality.”
Acting Chief Judge of the High Court Patan, Lal Bahadur Kunwar, also expressed confidence that the new building—being constructed based on the office’s workload and necessity—would ease the functioning of the institution and enhance efficiency.
Deputy Attorney General Shankar Khatri extended special thanks to all concerned bodies, officials, and the Office of the Attorney General for their cooperation in bringing the project to this stage, including land acquisition, design, DPR preparation, and resource assurance.
The modern seven-story building will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 260 million.
The event was attended by Deputy Attorney Generals, Assistant Attorney Generals, Judicial Officers, the Chief District Officer of Lalitpur, judges and registrar of the High Court Patan, the head of Lalitpur District Police Office, and representatives from the High Court Patan Bar Unit.
