Gaza faces severe water crisis
This is far below the World Health Organization’s minimum emergency standard of 15 liters per day.

KATHMANDU: The Palestinian Water Authority has warned of a catastrophic water crisis in the Gaza Strip, stating that water and sanitation services have nearly collapsed due to the ongoing conflict with Israel.
In an official statement, the Authority reported that Israeli military operations, extensive infrastructure destruction, power outages, and restrictions on fuel and essential supplies have brought water services in Gaza to a near standstill.
According to the Authority, 85% of water and sanitation facilities in the enclave have been severely damaged, leaving residents with an average of only 3 to 5 liters of water per person per day.
This is far below the World Health Organization’s minimum emergency standard of 15 liters per day.
The media office of the Hamas-run government in Gaza has accused Israel of committing “organized crimes” against more than 2 million civilians by enforcing a comprehensive blockade and preventing humanitarian aid from entering the territory.
Israel has kept all Gaza crossings closed for 70 consecutive days, halting the entry of an estimated 39,000 aid trucks carrying fuel, food, and medical supplies, despite the worsening humanitarian and health crisis.
