KATHMANDU: The Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has temporarily halted the printing of essential driving licenses due to a technical malfunction in its printing system.
In a public notice issued on Sunday, the department stated that printing has been suspended since Thursday after a problem was detected in the license printing machine.
As a result, the issuance of driving licenses for Nepalis traveling abroad for study or employment, peacekeeping missions, members of Nepal Police, and Non-Resident Nepalis (NRNs) has been paused.
Department spokesperson Ganeshman Singh Rai confirmed that the printing of all types of licenses, including those for the general public and essential cases, has been suspended until further notice.
