Situala urges unified stance for implementation of fundamental rights
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader in the National Assembly, Krishna Prasad Situala, has emphasized the need for unity among all political forces to effectively implement the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution.
Speaking during Sunday’s session of the National Assembly, Situala underscored the constitutional commitment to enforce fundamental rights, stressing that legal clarity and collective effort are crucial for translating them into action. “This is the time for all to come together to fulfill our constitutional obligations,” he stated.
Highlighting the country’s fragile economic state, Situala said that both the ruling and opposition parties must rise above partisan support or criticism to strengthen the economy. “Regardless of political affiliation, the economy should be our shared priority,” he added.
He also called attention to global dynamics—such as changing international policies, the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war, and tensions in neighboring countries—urging a collective evaluation of these factors to shape a forward-looking national budget.
Expressing confidence in the government’s ability to navigate global shifts, Situala said, “The government must assess these changes and move ahead accordingly.”
He further noted that the government’s policies and programs reflect a strong commitment to the federal democratic republic and incorporate several key issues of national importance.
