Dr. Khadka criticizes govt. policies for lacking vision for prosperity
Dr. Khadka noted that the policies have addressed ministerial and sectoral issues but fail to include targeted programs that achieve national development goals.

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress lawmaker Dr. Narayan Khadka has said that although the government’s policy and program document appears comprehensive, it lacks concrete measures to guide the country toward sustainable prosperity.
Speaking during Sunday’s House of Representatives session, Dr. Khadka noted that the policies have addressed ministerial and sectoral issues but fail to include targeted programs that achieve national development goals.
He criticized the document for not addressing the country’s pressing economic challenges and said it lacks focus on resolving diverse financial issues faced by the nation.
Dr. Khadka also objected to the inclusion of language in the policy that proposes action against those who speak against the federal democratic republic. “It is inappropriate for a democratic government to suppress dissenting voices,” he stated.
He emphasized that public frustration and disappointment, especially among the youth, cannot be ignored. “The government must acknowledge people’s dissatisfaction instead of concealing it,” he said, urging that the upcoming budget should directly address youth concerns to strengthen democratic governance.
Highlighting the urgent need for employment creation, Dr. Khadka stressed that the budget must include effective plans to generate opportunities for Nepal’s 7 million-strong youth population.
